TODAY: August ends on a dry and warm note...pretty much the way the entire month went. Temps today will be a touch cooler...86 in the Springs and 93 in Pueblo. A little bit of a breeze again from the south/southeast this afternoon with one or two storms over the highest elevations. Weather just about all day and tonight at the State Fair sounds really nice.
TONIGHT: Clearing skies and cooling temps. Temps mostly in the 50's at the lower elevations.
SATURDAY: Plan to be at the Colorado Balloon Classic tomorrow morning! About 57 degrees at 7 AM with very little to no wind at all! Noon temps will be at 80 degrees at the USAFA game against Idaho State with partly cloudy skies. Enjoy. Highs tomorrow will be toasty with skies staying dry. 88 in the Springs and 95 in Pueblo.
SUNDAY: Toasty & dry again with highs of 89 in the Springs and 96 in Pueblo! There might be a storm or two over the mountains close to home, but not really any chance at the lower elevations. The good news is....there is a cool front on the way and it should arrive by late in the afternoon and usher-in some milder air and more moisture for Labor Day.
LABOR DAY: Not quite as hot and a better chance of afternoon storms. High temps will reach 84 in the Springs and 90 in Pueblo. Chances of storms go up quite a bit over the mountains...about a 30% chance for Teller County...and Wet & Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Colorado Springs chances should be about 20% and maybe as high as 10-20% for Pueblo and Pueblo West.
TUESDAY-THURSDAY: Mild again Tuesday with another chance of storms possible for all of us...with the better chances staying over the high country. Slight chance of storms on Wednesday as yet another cool front approaches and passes through during the day. Temps cool very nicely for Thursday to only the 70's in the Springs and lower 80's in Pueblo and La Junta! Better news is...there is a better chance during the day of some storms compared to Wednesday.
Have a great and safe holiday weekend!
