Many tow companies say you can expect to wait up to three hours in bitterly cold weather. In snow storms, that wait is extended to five hours.
Knob Hill Towing tells News 5 that if you find you're in need of a tow truck, you should first pull your car into a safe area if you are able to. You should then call a towing company. Finally, if you can get someone to pick up and give you a ride, that saves you time waiting in your vehicle. You should always have a blanket in your car and know who you're going to call in case of an emergency before you even leave your house.
Knob Hill Towing says they expected to get around 70 calls on Thursday.
