Vote for a Colorado Springs family in national contest

A Colorado Springs family is a finalist in a national video contest--if they win, the sponsors will make a $30,000 donation to Denver Children's Hospital. Your online votes are needed to help catapult them to victory.

Heidi Lopez, a high school choral teacher, believed creating a video for the Family Dance-off contest would be fun for her family. They all got involved--parents Heidi and Carlos, two-year-old Calia, and even eight-month-old Caden.

"As an elementary school principal, I've had a number of students over the years whose lives have been touched by the Children's Hospital," said Carlos Lopez. "Not only was this contest for a worthwhile cause, but it was fun! Exercise doesn't have to take place at a gym to be good for you. Our family understands the value of being active while having a great time together. We always have fun dancing and acting silly! We are not serious dancers, but we like to laugh, and often our laughter and exercise go hand in hand!"

The Lopez family is currently in the lead.

The contest is sponsored Primrose Schools. Calia attends the Primrose School of Springs Ranch.

The winning family will be announced next week.
