The man identified as a 'person of interest' in a deadly home-invasion spree in Black Forest has now been formally identified as the prime suspect in the slayings and booked without bail on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office says Kenneth Lankford, 46, is suspected of fatally shooting Terry Lankford, 51, in her home on Burrows Road as well as Carol Fowler, 51, in her home on Timber Lane Court. Fowler's husband, Thomas, 52, was also shot and wounded, but reported in stable condition at a local hospital.
Lankford was arrested Sunday morning near State Highway 83 and Hodgen Road after an intensive manhunt following Saturday morning's slayings, which terrified the Black Forest community.
