Victims in I-25 crash identified

A Colorado Springs man is dead after a late night accident near Pueblo. The two car crash shut down 1-25, just 6 miles south of Pueblo.

Troopers say the roads were slick from rain causing the driver of a KIA Sorento to lose control hit a guardrail and then striking a second guardrail. They say the car came to a stop but was hit by a 2007 Toyota Tundra that was heading northbound on I-25. The passenger in the KIA, 58 year-old Jerry Jinkins was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected and died from his injuries.

The Kia's driver, 30-year-old Jerrell Jinkins, was restrained at the time of the
crash. He was transported to Parkview Medical Center, where he was treated with minor injuries. Another passenger, 26-year-old Rashada Jinkins, was restrained at the
time of the crash and treated with minor injuries.

The Toyota's driver, 20-year-old Luke Greer, was restrained at the time of the
crash. He was not injured during the crash. His passenger, 20-year-old Rya Dyes was not injured, either.

State Patrol says speed is a contributing factor in the accident.
