Victim of deadly house fire identified

Deputies with El Paso County Sheriff's Office have identified the grandmother who perished in a house fire in Widefield earlier this month. The coroner confirms that Linda McDowell, 64, died in a fire at a home in the 400 block of Cielo Vista Street on October 4.
When firefighters from the Security and Fort Carson Fire Departments arrived, they found the home engulfed in flames. Two children and their aunt were taken to the hospital to be treated for burns and smoke inhalation.
The coroner is still waiting for test results to officially determine the cause and manner of McDowell's death.
