Pueblo County Sheriff's investigators are probing a suspected homicide that happened early Thursday morning. Pueblo County Coroner James Kramer says the man suffered multiple, external injuries. The Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as 50-year-old Robert Piserchio.

News First 5 has learned the victim is the brother-in-law of Fountain Police Chief Dan Corsentino. Corsentino is the former Sheriff of Pueblo County.

Deputies were called to the home in the 5400 block of Stonemoor Dr. at 1:30 am, as a result of a fire alarm. They discovered the body when they arrived. The house was full of smoke, but the structure was not seriously damaged. Deputies say they found evidence in the home of shots being fired, but it is not clear how recently that might have occured.

The home is in the upscale Stonemoor Hills neighborhood, just west of the Pueblo city limits.

On November 30, Piserchio reported someone stole a wallet from his home. Detectives are investigating whether the incidents are connected.
