Victim assistance group give new life to old cell phones

Pueblo's victim assistance organization, ACOVA has a use for cell phones beyond the recycling bin.  The group provides working, but non-active cell phones, to victims of domestic violence.  Cell phones can still call 911, even if they don't have active service.

Cell phones may be dropped off at the Pueblo Police Department or call 719-583-6434 and ACOVA will make arrangements to pick them up. You may remain anonymous or leave your name and address and you will receive an acknowledgement letter from ACOVA.

Every non-active cell phone donated has all personal information, like phone numbers and pictures, deleted before it is distributed to victims.

ACOVA, A Community Organization for Victim Assistance provides support, information, appropriate resource referrals and follow up to victims, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, age or gender.
