Veteran benefits that you may not know about

Here's some good news for veterans: if you are over age 65, you may qualify for up to $24,000 a year, just for having served. It's because of the Non-Service Connected Disability Pension. The benefit was signed into law more than 60 years ago, but it's not widely advertised.

To qualify, you have to be over 65 or permanently disabled. You also need to have served 90 days of active duty, with one of those days during a war time. And since the goal is to offset medical costs, you have to prove that you are receiving some sort of care.
