MENDHAM, N.J. (AP) - Verizon workers will take their strike to their CEO's New Jersey home Thursday.

Members of the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers plan to stage a candlelight vigil outside Lowell McAdam's residence in Mendham.

About 45,000 Verizon workers from Massachusetts to Virginia walked off the job Aug. 7.

The unions are fighting the company's call for a pension freeze and for contributions to health insurance premiums, among other demands.

McAdam has said the company must react to "a 10-year decline" in customer base and profitability in the landline market from wireless service and other devices.

The company has obtained court injunctions in four states to limit picketing.
