Verdict reached in child abuse death

A jury reached a verdict today in the case against George Peters. He's the man accused of fatally injuring 2 month old, Nicholas Johnson, in February.

The jury found Peters not guilty of 1st degree murder in the infants death but found him guilty of child abuse resulting in death. Peters was also found guilty of child abuse causing serious bodily injury to Gabriel Peters, his own 2 month old child.

According to the arrest affidavit, the injuries to Gabriel and the abuse that caused baby Nicholas Johnson's death happened while Peters was babysitting the two children. Sentencing is set for December 5.
