A Colorado Springs family is asking the community for help. Their custom outfitted family van for their little girl with disabilities has been stolen.
Five year old Dulce Rodriguez is has to be in a wheelchair throughout day. After years of saving, her family got the custom van just a couple of months ago. Then this past Monday someone stole it from outside their home on East Pikes Peak Avenue. "We were like why is someone going to need a van with a ramp in it. You know, it's something we don't understand, said sister, Claudia Rodriguez."
Because it fits Dulce's needs, replacing the van with another is not the family's best option. The hope someone recognizes it and will call police.
It is a 2002 light blue Dodge mini van. The rear makes it look different than other similar vans. It is customized in the rear with a cut-out in the bumper wide enough for a wheelchair ramp.
