The U.S. Olympic Committee plans to standardize sex-abuse-prevention guidelines for the national governing bodies of the various Olympic sports.
Four-time Olympic cross country skier Nina Kemppel will lead a USOC task force, which expects to complete the project over the summer.
Kemppel said she hopes to produce a list of best practices for the groups to follow.
Recent reports about sex-abuse cases in swimming have brought the issue under the microscope.
There are more than 30 Olympic sports, and this marks the USOC's most concerted effort to provide some guidance.
