The countdown is on: 15 days until winter games 2010, and one our best bets at U.S. gold is the women's ice hockey team.
Team USA is here in Colorado Springs for the next week. The United States is getting ready for a Pre-Olympic showdown with hockey powerhouse Finland.
The U.S. team won gold in 1998, but since, won a silver in ‘02, then a disappointing bronze medal in ‘06.
The women are coached by Mark Johnson, one of the heroes of the 1980 miracle on ice team.
"Now they can see the light at the end of the tunnel," said Johnson. "They can actually feel the opening ceremonies and there's a lot of excitement."
"That's why we wake up every day and train so hard, and sacrifice family and friends and other aspects of life," said USA hockey captain Natalie Darwitz. "It's to win a gold medal. Anything less would be hard."
USA-Finland is next Thursday night at 7 p.m. at World Arena.
