U.S., Japanese leaders meet in Tokyo

President Barack Obama has been meeting with Japan's new prime minister.

Obama arrived in Tokyo earlier today on a trip aimed at shoring up ties with Japan. The country's new leader came to power calling for a more equal partnership with Washington.

Obama and Yukio Hatoyama will be holding a news conference.

Obama is also scheduled to greet Japanese Emperor Akihito and deliver a policy speech on Asia.
