Skateboarder could be ticketed after being hit by car

A man who lost control of his skateboard and was hit by a car on South Circle Drive while chasing after it could be ticketed for causing the accident.

Antjuan Peebles Bennett, 21, was taken in an ambulance to the hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department blotter, a citation for Bennett is pending review by the Major Accident Unit.

The driver who hit Bennett will not be charged. The police say Fittipaldi, 77, was not speeding nor was he under under the influence of drugs or alochol.

The northbound lanes of Circle Boulevard were closed for approximately 2 hours during the accident.

Colorado Springs Police have sent special investigators to the scene of a serious auto-pedestrian accident at S. Circle Dr. and Monterey Rd.

Northbound lanes of S. Circle are closed from Janitell to Monterey roads.

Traffic is backed up because of the crash and investigation.

The condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
