Both eastbound lanes along Highway 24 in Woodland Park have been reopened following an officer involved shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., an officer with the Woodland Park Police Department attempted to pull over an older model Saturn station wagon heading east on 24 near Wal-Mart.

While attempting to arrest the driver, the officer opened fire.

The driver was hit and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

His condition is unknown.

Colorado State Patrol diverted traffic while Woodland Park police and the Teller County Sheriff's Office conducted the investigation.

Shortly after 6 p.m., CBI arrived on scene.
