As reported earlier, a United Airline Boeing 757 en route from Denver to Los Angeles was diverted to Grand Junction Regional Airport when it was reported that one engine was shut down. The aircraft was able to make a safe emergency landing shortly after 11:30 am.
The 757 has two engines and can safely fly and land with only one engine being functional so the diversion and emergency landing was an extra precautionary option.
United Airlines spokespersons have yet to release a full report.
