2 found dead in west Colorado Springs home, police investigating

Colorado Springs Police are investigating the deaths of two adults, a man and a woman, found in a home at 829 Skyway Blvd. Saturday afternoon.

Police got a call at 3:37 p.m. from someone who found the bodies inside the home with traumatic injuries. Police say the woman had an apparent gunshot wound to the torso, but they wouldn't go into details on the injuries to the male other than that both individual's injuries were traumatic. The individuals were not identified.

Sgt. David Edmondson with Colorado Springs Police says he believes everyone in the home is accounted for and that they're not searching for any suspects. However, he wouldn't say whether any of the injuries were self-inflicted.

"What a shock," said Lana Coffman, a neighbor from up the street. "There's tragic things happening all over, but it sure brings it pretty close to home when it's right here."

Coffman and other neighbors, who came out to see what all the commotion was about, say police activity in the neighborhood is unusual, but that home has had disturbances before.

"We've seen more with occupants of that house than we've been used to seeing," explains Tim Freymuth, who has lived in the neighborhood for 20 years. He tells News First 5 that two teenage daughters lived in the home.

"This is not a good situation at all, very tragic all the way around," Freymuth says.

News First 5 spoke to several neighbors, none of whom knew the residents personally, but all said they had seen commotion at the home over time.

Springs Police Major Crimes Division as well as the District Attorney's office were on scene. Skyway Blvd. had been shut down from Milky Way to N. Star Drive. Edmondson said to expect crews on scene for a while investigating.
