A Flash Flood Watch is in effect across most of southeast Colorado because of conditions that are right for more rain, and ground that is already saturated from earlier storms.
A tree was hit by lightning on West Kiowa and a house was hit by lightning on N. 27th. The Fire Department found no damage there. We also have reports of lightning hitting a chimney on Switchback Trail near Woodmen and another house hit by lightning on Glider Loop in Black Forest.
At about 4:45 reports came in about cars stranded in deep water on Vollmer Road. Another car stalled on 8th Street with water up to the bumpers.
At 5:15 Colorado Springs Utilities reported about 200 customers without power due to the storm.
Just over a half inch of rain fell at our WeatherBug station near Cimarron and 8th Street.
