The mother of one of the 4 teens involved in a deadly accident in Eagle County says the young man killed was a student at Lewis Palmer High School in Monument. Colorado.

Troopers say the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Saturday on I-70 just outside Eagle. Three other teenagers were hurt in the crash.

State troopers say the Jeep Wrangler they were in lost control, hit a fence, and rolled several times. 3 of the teenagers were thrown out. 19 year old Levi Patrick was pronounced dead at the scene. The other 3 teens were taken to Vail Valley Hospital. The driver Nathaniel Matteson, 17, is in stable condition. 18 year-old Chase Yeager and 18 year-old Jefferson Oakey were treated for minor injuries and released from the hospital.

All four teens are seniors at Lewis Palmer High School. School officials say crisis teams will be at Lewis Palmer High School and Palmer Ridge High School on Monday to help students.

An investigation is underway, but troopers believe that tire failure may have led to the accident. They say roads were dry, and don't believe alcohol or speed was involved.

There will be a candlelight vigil tonight, Sunday, at 7 p.m. to honor the life of Levi Patrick. It will be held at "It's a Grind" in Monument. That's on Jackson Creek Parkway.
