A line of severe thunderstorms producing hail 1" to over golf ball size is located from south near Security northward through Peterson AFB to the Black Forest, moving slowly east at 5 mph.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for central El Paso County including Colorado Springs metro area through 8:45 p.m.
A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for central El Paso County including Colorado Springs metro area through 9:30 p.m.
Several intersections in eastern Colorado Springs are flooded and should be avoided...north Carefree and south Carefree and Academy & Constitution. Constitution is flooded between Murray and Powers.
The Colorado Springs fire department is urging motorists not to drive in eastern Colorado Springs until the storms move out.
Stay away from drainage ditches.
Don't cross water of unknown depth or moving water. Just 2 feet of water can float a car.
