Fire Crews from El Paso County and the US Forest Service have been scrambling to locate a fire burning West of Highway 115. Initial reports had crews looking in an area a little closer to town then once the fires were actually located multiple calls came in reporting the same fire in different areas. Crews now have a handle on the true location of the fire burning West of Fort Carson and Highway 115.

The fire has been named the "Little Fountain Fire" and is reported to be approximately a 1/4 to 1/2 acre in size in a remote location. Fire Crews from the US Forest Service are hiking in to this fire. At this time there isn't an exact known cause and there are no structures being threatened.

Smoke has been seen as far as Fountain looking west, but it has been intermittent in nature.

The US Forest service has been tweeting their operations on the "Little Fountain Fire" to keep the public up to date. Crews are expected to reach the burn area by 8:00pm tonight and they will set camp to stay overnight.

The closest named peak to the fire is Gray Back Peak.
