UPDATE: Firefighters battle a wildfire in La Veta, Colorado

Firefighters are trying to contain a wildfire west of La Veta, Colorado. Several fire departments are on the scene working to contain the wildfire located near 9200 W. U.S. Hwy. 160.

The fire started around 2:30 p.m. Friday. According to the La Veta Fire Chief David Tray, the winds are presenting a problem in trying to fight the 20 acre fire that's located on a steep slope. Only one person was evacuated. No reported injuries at this time.

As of 9 p.m. the Huerfano County Emergency Manager reported the fire was at 50-percent containment.
