Update: Cement truck flips on side

A Transit Mix concrete truck crashed on Peterson Road, closing the road for several hours. Colorado Springs Police say the truck was making a right turn onto Peterson Road from Stetson Hills around 2 p.m.  It then flipped onto its side, closing northbound Peterson Road.

The road wasn't cleared until about 6pm.

Police say one fuel tank ruptured and spilled five to 10 gallons of diesel fuel onto the road.  A hazardous materials crew kept the fuel from getting into the stormwater drain.

No other vehicles are involved in the crash.  Emergency crews have taken the driver of the truck to the hospital for evaluation.  Police say his injuries are minor.
