UPDATE: Arrest made in deadly overnight motorcycle crash

Colorado Springs Police have announced an arrest in the deadly over night motorcycle crash at Vickers and Flintridge.

A man is dead after a motorcycle accident just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

"One of our officers stumbled upon this traffic accident scene after he had been advised by motorists that there had be an accident, a bad accident, back here at Vickers and Flintridge," said Sgt. Jim Jeffcoat.

A 23-year old man -- who was wearing a helmet -- crashed while riding a dirt bike on wet roads. Police tried to give first aid at the scene. The victim died shortly after.

A witness to the collision reported to police that the two motorcycles had collided very shortly before police arrival.

Police continued to investigate reports of a man who picked up a second fallen motorcycle from the scene and drove without lights southbound on Flintridge.

Police followed up eye witness reports and leads that which led investigators to the arrest of 34 year-old Cash Stewart on Felony Hit & Run and Vehicular Homicide.

Police also state that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
