Update: About 50 percent of La Junta without power

The La Junta Fire Department Chief says approximately 50 percent of La Junta is without power.
The manager of the La Junta Municipal Power Plant says two of the plant's five circuits tripped this afternoon, knocking out power to about half the city's 4,000 metered customers. He says crews are working to identify the source of the problem, but until the problem is identified and corrected, the circuits can't be switched back on, so there is no estimated time for restoration of service.
Tri-State Generation provides electricity to the City of La Junta.
