UPDATE: 8-month old released from hospital

Colorado Springs police arrested Daniel Sheffield, on suspicion of abusing his 8-month-old son.
Police say the little boy had been injured inside an apartment in the 4100-block of Westmeadow Drive. The baby was taken to Evans Army Hospital with a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma, and he was transferred to Memorial Hospital. Ft, Carson tells News First 5 that Sheffield is a Specialist in the 43rd Sustainment Brigade.
Memorial Hospital said the child has been treated and released.
Sheffield was booked on a felony charge of Child Abuse Causing Serious Bodily Injury to a Child.
