D.C. police say a fourth person is dead after a drive-by shooting in southeast Washington.
Police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said early Wednesday that a fourth person has died after the shooting Tuesday night in which nine people were shot.
D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier says a gunman sprayed bullets "into a crowd." Officials say three people were arrested and a weapon was recovered after six men and three women were shot around the 4000 block of South Capitol Street southeast.
Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer says all were in their 20s and 30s, except for one teenager.
Authorities say four D.C. officers were slightly injured while chasing a suspect's vehicle into neighboring Prince George's County in Maryland.
