On April 30 the Teller County Sheriff's Office will participate in the "National Pharmaceutical Drug Take Back Event."
This event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is designed to get unused and unwanted prescription drugs out of people's homes.
Unwanted drugs can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at five locations in Teller County:
The following items cannot be accepted for the Take Back programs: needles, sharps, mercury (thermometers), oxygen containers, chemotherapy, radioactive substances, pressurized canister and illicit drugs. All drugs will be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner.
