Unemployment rate drops in Colorado Springs and Pueblo

The unemployment rate fell in August in Colorado to 7.8 percent. That's down from 8.3 in July according to the Colorado Department of Labor.
The number of unemployed fell from 227,317 to 212,633. A year ago the unemployment rate in the state was 8.1 percent.
In El Paso County the jobless rate fell to 9.1 percent from 9.8 in July with about 2,500 more people employed.
In Pueblo County the unemployment rate was 10.6 percent in August, down from 11 percent in July.
These numbers are not seasonally adjusted.
