U.S. drone helped stop Gadhafi convoy

WASHINGTON (AP) - U.S. officials confirm that an American Predator drone took part in the airstrikes yesterday in Libya that stopped a convoy carrying Moammar Gadhafi. The ousted Libyan leader was captured -- wounded but alive --and later died with gunshot wounds to the head, chest and stomach.
Today, the U.S. State Department is urging Libyan authorities to provide a transparent account of how Gadhafi died. But a department
spokesman is also suggesting that the longtime dictator got what he deserved.
