Two rescued from fair ride

Two people stranded high in the air aboard a stalled fair ride have been rescued after nearly an hour.  A fire department spokeswoman says a call came in at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday to report the stalled ride at the Miami-Dade County Fair.

News footage showed the seemingly calm riders turned horizontally in their seats, with their feet dangling above the fairgrounds. Around 2:45 the ride was shown slowly moving again toward the ground before the people got off. Several rescue units were dispatched.  The ride stalled about two hours after the fair had opened for the day. The fair lasts until April 11.
