Two men from Colorado Springs walked away from a plane crash in Manzanola Tuesday night.

Pilot Clement Silver Jr., 60,and his passenger Thomas Hoeppner, 58, were aboard a bi-plane flying from Lamar to Ellicott when they detoured because of turbulence.

Silver told Otero County Sheriff's Deputies that his GPS indicated there was an airstrip, which turned out to be a farm field. Silver landed safely, but the plane flipped at the end of the landing.

The FAA is investigating the incident.

A farmer told NewsFirst5 that the plane was moved out of the field Wednesday morning.
