Two longtime Pueblo law enforcement officers killed in plane crash

We are continuing to bring you the latest information on a plane crash that killed two law enforcement officers from Pueblo.

We've learned that Captain Leide Defusco with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office and retired Pueblo Police Department Captain John Barger were both killed in that crash in the San Isabel National Forest.

The names have been released on several websites including one for fallen officers and Pueblo's Colorado State Patrol Twitter page.

Pueblo County Sheriff said last night the families have been contacted.

We had the opportunity to interview each of these law officers at different times during their career.

Defusco served 22 years in law enforcement and is survived by his wife and four kids.

Barger was retired from the force but remained an experienced pilot with a love for flying.

Today the NTSB began their investigation into the crash.

Crews were still on scene, and those with the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office tell us they are disheartened as their search and rescue efforts turned to recovery.

We will bring you more on this story as it becomes available.
