Two people are dead in a multi-vehicle accident just south of Westcliffe on Highway 69.
A semi-trailer truck was involved, along with five other vehicles. State Troopers at the scene tell News 5 the truck driver is dead, along with one other person.
Three people were injured. Two were flown to hospitals, a third was taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
The accident happened about a mile south of Westcliffe. There is a road construction project in the area that covers about 9 miles south of Westcliffe. That project includes adding shoulders to the road because it is so narrow.
The accident happened about 1:20 p.m. and the road is still closed.
We'll bring you more on this story at 11 p.m. on News 5 after the Olympics.
