Two arrested after failed robbery

Colorado Springs Police have arrested two young men in an attempted robbery.  It happened around 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Western Convenience Store at 227 West Fillmore Street. Two white men entered the store, according to employees carrying sticks.  The reportedly demanded money, but left before getting any.

An officer at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs conducted a traffic stop a short time later and linked the two people in the car with the attempted robbery.  The suspects are identified as Justin Runion and Robin Withers.
