Franklin Macon has his medal back. A bronze medal awarded to him by President Bush in 2007 was stolen by burglars in May.
Local and national media attention followed as word of the theft spread. Eventually, Macon was awarded a replica medal in a ceremony last month at the Air Force Academy.
Early Friday morning, three police officers arrived at Macon's door, bearing the medal that means so much to him. It had been recovered in the lost-and-found of a hotel off Fountain Boulevard between Chelton and Academy.
Tonight on News First 5, hear Macon's reaction to getting his precious medal back.
