DENVER (AP) - Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was scheduled to return to the Colorado lineup Thursday night after missing two games because of a strained right quadriceps muscle.
He was injured Sunday in Los Angeles and had to leave the game in the fifth inning.
Tulowitzki, the Rockies cleanup hitter, was originally scheduled to play Wednesday afternoon in the first game of a split doubleheader with Philadelphia but was scratched from the lineup because of cold weather. The second game was rained out.
Manager Jim Tracy said Tulowitzki needed to hit and take groundballs during batting practice without any setbacks before returning to the lineup, and he did all that.
