Tuition deal between Colo., NM renewed

DENVER (AP) - Colorado and New Mexico renewed a deal allowing students from each state to attend college at resident rates at participating institutions.
The reciprocity agreement will be extended for three years beginning July 1. The cap for the number of eligible students will also be increased from 400 to 500 students.
Colorado Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia renewed the agreement Tuesday with New Mexico Department of Higher Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Jose Z. Garcia.
The Colorado colleges that participate in the agreement are those closest to the state border with New Mexico, including Adams State University, Trinidad State Junior College and Colorado State University in Pueblo.
The University of New Mexico's School of Medicine and School of Law and the New Mexico Military Institute are the state's only institutions that don't participate in the agreement.
