Final preparations are being made for Tuesday's funeral for Colorado Springs Police Officer Matt Tyner who died in the line of duty last week; after the funeral there will be a procession through the city that police say will likely cause traffic delays.

The procession is expected to be around four Tuesday afternoon. Southbound I-25 lanes will be blocked from Interquest Parkway to Uintah St.; northbound lanes will remain open. The procession will exit at Uintah St. and go east to Nevada Ave; then it will head south, passing City Hall and the Police Operations Center.

"This officer put his life on the line and he died in the line of duty, and this our way of recognizing and thanking him for his service to this community," says Barbara Miller, spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department.

On Monday, in honor of Officer Tyner, flags were ordered to half-staff by Mayor Steve Bach and Governor John Hickenlooper.
