A winter storm moving through Southern Colorado Tuesday morning could make for an uneasy commute. The heaviest snow was over the Southeastern Plains overnight and started picking up between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM around Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Snow will fall this morning and gradually end through 10 AM to 12 Noon in the Southeastern Plains, where 5-10" of snow is expected. Along and west of I-25 expect periodic breaks in between periods of snow and totals of 2-6" along I-25 with 8-14" in the higher terrain west of I-25.
Expect falling temperatures throughout the day. The 20's from early morning will drop into the teens through the morning and afternoon. Wind chills will be in the single digits. Temperatures will drop into the single digits this evening and then below 0 overnight. Dress in layers to most effectively stay warm, and be ready for a slow commute at times.
