Tuesday Weather: Warm With Beautiful Sunshine

Our Tuesday started on a clear note as high pressure is situated right on top of Colorado. A plume of monsoonal moisture is running up the western quadrant of that high pressure area. In the moisture-rich zone are clouds-a-plenty and even some rain showers from Arizona into Utah and Nevada. That moisture will make a return to our area on Thursday. A burst of rain over northwestern Mexico marks a mid-level disturbance that will work with the increase in moisture on Thursday to bring increased odds of seeing rain.

Today we under the direct influence of that warm high pressure. Temperatures will warm into the 80's and 90's for highs. From 7 AM to 10 AM we will warm from the 50's and 60's into the 70's. With persistent sunshine temperatures will warm into the upper 70's and lower 80's by lunchtime. Clouds will try to bulk up in the mountains between noon and 2 PM and temperatures will continue warming through the 80's and even toward 90 along the Arkansas Valley. From 2 PM to 5 PM we can't rule out an isolated thunderstorm or two in the high elevations west of I-25. That could even mean a stray thunderstorm on the far west side of Colorado Springs, but the majority of us will be dry with little to no threat for any rain today.

Tomorrow will not be a big change, though temperatures will likely warm a couple of degrees ahead of Thursday's approaching disturbance. That disturbance brings rain and cooler temperatures on Thursday to be followed by gradual warming and drier conditions beginning Friday and persisting through the weekend.
