NEW YORK (AP) - A revamped "Spider-Man" musical has taken flight on Broadway.

The reboot of the $70 million show got off to a swinging start at the Foxwoods Theatre on Thursday - but with some noticeably empty seats in the house.

Producers are hoping audiences will take kindly to what they've called a cleaner script, tighter music and an enhanced love story for the most expensive show in Broadway history.

The show features music by U2's Bono and The Edge. It reopens with most of the cast intact but without the visionary Julie Taymor as director.

Demand for tickets may be softer than when the musical first opened its doors in November.
