Tropical Storm Gil is organizing and gather strength over the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
At 3 AM MDT Tuesday, Gil was centered nearly 900 miles southwest of the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula and had winds near 50 mph.
The National Hurricane Center forecasts Gil to continue moving mainly westward out into the Pacific Ocean. Some strengthening is expected, and Gil could become a hurricane during the day Thursday.
