The fourth Tropical Depression of the Atlantic Hurricane Season formed early this morning.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami issued the first advisory on Tropical Depression Four at 3 AM MDT Wednesday.
UPDATE: Just after 8 AM MDT, the National Hurricane Center upgraded the depression to a tropical storm.
The center of Tropical Storm Dorian was located just over 300 miles west/southwest of the Cape Verde Islands in the far eastern Atlantic near the coast of Africa.
The forecast from the National Hurricane Center is for slow strengthening and and persistent west to west/northwest movement. The current forecasts suggest it may brush the northern Lesser Antilles in the northeastern Caribbean Sea on Monday.
