Trooper pleads guilty to driving drunk

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado State trooper has pleaded guilty to driving drunk while on duty and has been sentenced to 10 days in jail.

David Dolan also pleaded guilty Monday in Douglas County Court in Castle Rock to prohibited use of a weapon. The 48-year-old trooper was arrested in March after officers said he was seen swerving in and out of traffic near Castle Rock. Authorities say Dolan's blood alcohol content was .194 when he was arrested. The legal limit for drivers is .08.

The Gazette in Colorado Springs reports that Dolan apologized during the hearing for any disgrace he brought upon the State Patrol. His attorney says Dolan suffers from post-traumatic stress.  Dolan was sentenced to 18 months of supervised probation.
