Colorado State Troopers say a 17 year old from Trinidad was seriously hurt last Friday when he lost control of his Kawasaki dirt bike and crashed into a utility pole. The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. along Colorado Highway 160 just a quarter mile east of Trinidad.
The boy was headed west riding through the grass shoulder ditch. After hitting the pole, the bike rotated and landed on top of him.
The teen was flown from the scene to Parkview Hospital in Pueblo. He was not wearing a helmet or eye protection at the time of the accident. Drugs and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.
