Train hits truck in Grand Junction, no injuries reported

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a coal train headed to Kentucky hit a truck that was stranded on the tracks in Grand Junction.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports the Union Pacific train with three locomotives and 104 cars hit the truck at about 2 a.m. Friday.
The unoccupied vehicle was "high-centered" on an area of the tracks that is not crossed by a road, and investigators are trying to determine how it ended up there.
Police say the truck, which had out-of-state license plates, was stolen, though they could not say exactly when.
The train originated at the Bowie mine near Somerset and was delayed for several hours.
No injuries were reported.
