Trail closures create frustration

Trails in Bear Creek remain shut down as the Forest Service continues its fight to try and protect the, Greenback Cutthroat Trout.

Congressman Doug Lamborn holding a public forum Monday night, hoping to open lines of communication between the Forest Service and those that use the trails daily.

Locals say they understand the concerns surrounding the fish but feel there's got to be a better solution than keeping the public off these trails.

"This is actually a major reason why I moved to Colorado Springs was to be able to mountain bike, dirt bike, everything on the outdoor trail systems. So when I heard this trail system was closed down it really hurts my sports, and there's no other place in the county that allows dirt-biking," said Colorado Springs Resident, Brian Buccellato.

The forum lasted about an hour and a half and those with the Forest Service say they'll certainly be taking the public's concerns into consideration.
